World class boxing returns to the Couer D'Alene Casino's House of Fury, Friday October 12th as former two time World Lightweight champion Stevie Johnston takes on tough Veteran Rolando Reyes for the IBA Lightweight title. The bout promises to deliver fireworks as both fighters look to continue a renewed momentum in their respective careers after suffering devastating defeats last year. The packed seven bout card follows the tradition of world class level boxing at the Couer D'Alene Casino that match-maker Moe Smith continues deliver to Northwest fight fans.

Well known throughout the boxing world for his skill and heart, "Lil' but bad" Stevie Johnston was at one point not only the top lightweight in the world, but considered one of the best fighters pound for pound. He reigned as lightweight title holder from '97 through '00, losing it to Cesar Bazan in '98 then recovered the title six months later. Johnston lost his title for the last time to Jose Luis Castillo in the first of two closely contested wars, the second of which ended in a draw. Johnston went on to win five straight, and was on his way to a rubber match with Castillo when he was stopped by Juan Lazcano in the 11th round of a title eliminator. After a subsequent loss to Vivian Harris, Johnston's time as a world class fighter seemed to be over. Impressive victories over slick southpaw Tyrone Harris and Humberto Toledo have changed that perception and Johnston is knocking on the door of a world title once again. A win would move him closer towards regaining his status as a top lightweight. He has a tough task with Reyes, a tough opponent that is also looking to move up in the boxing ranks.
