During his career, Gibbons defeated such men as Bobby Dobbs, Frank Craig, Mike Daly, Andy Bowen, Mike Cushing, Jimmy Liddy, Jack Kenny, Jim Verrall, Jimmy McHale, Martin Snee and Wiley Evans
